Bold, resinous and bursting with bright grapefruit aroma, this IPA is a tribute to the decades of hard work by conservationists to restore the James River as a bounty of vibrant aquatic life, eco-friendly recreational activity, and in our case, fresh brewing water. These efforts have culminated recently with the symbolic return of the endangered Atlantic sturgeon, a prehistoric, yet majestic behemoth of a fish, spotted as far up the James River as the fall line in Richmond. Your purchase of this beer supports the James River Association. Thank you for being a part of the Great Return.

12 Month Apple Brandy & Bourbon Barrel-Aged Blended Imperial Stout
A word from the Virginia Beer Company: "We brew beers for all and we share cheers with all. As such, we have joined numerous brewers around the world to participate in the Black is Beautiful initiative. Launched by our friends at Weathered Souls Brewing Co., Black is Beautiful is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily and to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone. For our version of Black is Beautiful, VBC will take the original open source Imperial Stout recipe developed by Weathered Souls, and blend Waypost Imperial Stout vintages aged for 12 months in Apple Brandy barrels and Willett Bourbon barrels to showcase flavors coming together from across the country. We stand with our colleagues, our friends, and our neighbors; and we will do what we can to lead by example."
